Ler Melhor Book Series
This is a series of literature reading guides for University and High School level students. The books are intended to support the reading of Portuguese literature masterpieces whose authors are true icons of the Portuguese literature and poetry heritage.
Picking up on this notion of icon, the design approach was to literally "create the author's face on the cover of the book", thus transforming covers into faces and faces into covers. As if, instead of having a series of books, we actually have a family of illustrious authors portrayed in a very pictographic style. A photographic portrait of each author is printed on the back cover confirming the identification depicted in front of the book.
This playful approach was deemed appropriate since it is designed to captivate a younger audience.
Almedina is currently one of the most important Portuguese Law publishing houses. In addition, Almedina has published in almost all areas of knowledge, with emphasis on works covering Literary Studies and Linguistics, intended mainly to higher education audiences.
